Beautiful maps for your weather applications.
We are excited to announce the release of the (Beta) Weather Maps API! This API allows for retrieval of global precipitation, 2 meter air temperature, and satellite cloud cover layers. The "Maps API" is compatible with most tile-serving clients such as Leaflet, and Mapbox. This API will be expanded in the coming months, however, during the beta period the following maps are available via the API: Current precipitation (categorized - freezing rain/sleet, snow, and rain), satellite cloud cover, and temperature. Data is updated at a 15-30 minute interval.
Global precipitation derived from nexrad radar, and satellite data
Categorized precipitation (freezing rain / sleet / snow / rain)
High resolution temperature
Feel free to check out some of our example maps on our weather map page!
We hope that you find these API updates useful in your business, and personal applications. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions or feedback. We would love to hear any feedback you have, or any improvements you have to suggest!
